Congratulations to the cast, musicians and crew of SCCAS's Sweeney Todd who have been nominated in the Adelaide Theatre Guide's "Curtain Call" Awards 2017. The Adelaide Theatre Guide (ATG) considers all theatre productions reviewed by its Review Team from 1 June 2016 and 31 May 2017. This will be the twelfth "Curtain Call" Award season. SCCAS previously received multiple nominations for Jesus Christ Superstar (2015).

This year, SCCAS's May 2017 production of Sweeney Todd has been nominated in the category: Best Show - Amateur. Criteria for Best Show nominees encourage aspects of theatre - like elements of uniqueness, re-invention, pushing boundaries and/or successfully taking risks. A high standard of production also needs to be evident, spanning all areas, including performances, direction, choreography and music, costumes, sets, sound, lighting and stage crewing.

The awards will be announced at the ATG Gala Dinner and "Curtain Call" Awards 2017, hosted by Michelle Nightingale. The Gala event will be held on September 2nd at the Adelaide Entertainment Center. More details, plus the other nominees can be found on the Adelaide Theatre Guide website.
