International Women's Day Awards 2017

The Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island 2017 Women’s Community Awards were held at the Hotel Victor in Victor Harbor on International Women’s Day, Wednesday, March 8 2017. Over 100 people were in attendance, celebrating the success of women in the community with guest speaker Kelly Jamieson.

Awards were presented to volunteers in the community who make an outstanding and inspirational contribution.

SCCAS's 2016 Youth Scollarship Award recipeint, Millie Doherty, was honoured to accept recognition for her youth work in the region through her involvement with SCCAS. In attendance was SCCAS President, Helen Williams, and Millie's family.

Millie has had an active role in the South Coast Choral and Arts Society since joining in 2012. During her time volunteering with the Society, she has worked in the backstage crew, hair and make up team and costume team. She is heading up the costume department for SCCAS's upcoming productions: Sweeney Todd and Cinderella and the Pirates. In 2016 Millie was selected to receive the SCCAS Youth Scholarship Award for 2016 and in 2017 Millie joined the SCCAS Committee of Management.
